Last week CES launched a new research report: Demonstrating the difference . The report investigates how infrastructure organisations are approaching the challenge of demonstrating the difference they make.

The report explores the use of monitoring and evaluation tools in the sector; theoretical and practical difficulties with demonstrating difference; and suggestions from respondents on what would help them better demonstrate the difference they make.

Last night I attended the above seminar, organised by ARVAC at the British Academy.

The two speakers, Jon Van Til and Colin Rochester, gave some interesting and strong views on different drivers that have and will influence the voluntary sector.

The evening provided opportunities for interesting comparisons, and some challenging debates. No one can accurately predict the future, but the debate certainly gave us all food for thought, about the future and about all the lessons of the past...
